The CuppyTv Pick

One person's student loans are getting erased. Who would you pick?

Everybody here named somebody. Read them. Then add yours.

Nobody's on the board yet.

Be the first one to name somebody. Yours goes up as soon as Cup reads it.

Add your pick.

Name one person and say why. That's the whole thing. Nobody gets named at random — if somebody puts you on this board, that says something about you.

Keep it to first names. Don't post anybody's last name, address, or numbers.

Never shown on the board. It's so Cup can reach you if your pick gets chosen.

Free. Buying or giving isn't required — it pushes this further if you do.

The cause

Student Debt Relief

Everything on this page rolls up under one cause. If CuppyTv takes on a second one later, it gets its own card and its own people.

The CuppyTv Pick

If you could erase one person's student debt…

Who would you pick?

Not the most impressive story.
Not the person you think everyone else would choose. The person whose name entered your mind before you finished reading this.

Say their name. Tell us what they carried. Pass the question on.

Make your CuppyTv Pick #MyCuppyTvPick

Everybody knows somebody who carried more than they ever let on.

Student debt isn't a young person's problem — it's a decades-long one, and it doesn't look like a number. It looks like a person who kept showing up for everyone else while a balance sat on their chest for twenty years, and who never once made it your problem.

A mother who worked doubles.

A teacher still paying for the degree that lets her serve everybody else's kids.

A friend whose balance kept growing while they kept showing up anyway.

Your Pick is the chance to put that person's name, and what they mean to you, in front of the world. Most of them have never once been told out loud that somebody noticed.

One name. One story. Three challenges.

You only get one name. That's the whole point — the choosing is the part that means something, and the person who came to mind first is almost always the right answer.

Choose one person

The one whose student loans you'd erase if the choice were yours. This is not a students-only thing — most people carrying this debt left campus years ago, or never finished at all. A parent still paying on a degree from 1998 counts the same as a junior. Don't overthink it. You already know.

Say their name and what they carried

Vertical, front camera, one take. This is the whole video — everything else is a frame around it.

Challenge three people

By name. Say it flat, don't sell it. They have 24 hours — and nothing happens if they miss it.

Tag CuppyTv

Use #MyCuppyTvPick so we find it, and throw your school's tag on it too — whatever your people already use. Your Pick lands in the CuppyTv feed and your school's feed at the same time, which is how the rest of your school finds out there's a board to get on. That feed is the point: thousands of names, thousands of reasons, all in one place.

Like this

“If I could erase one person's student debt, I'd pick my mom. She worked doubles my whole childhood — and somehow never let us feel what it cost her. That's my CuppyTv Pick. Marcus. Tia. Dee. I made mine. Now make yours.”

Don't produce it. Mean it.

Front camera, one take, thirty seconds is enough. We're not looking for perfect lighting or perfect words. We're looking for the name you couldn't leave unspoken.

Somebody challenged you. Now what?

Three ways to answer, and every one of them counts.

Door one

Make your Pick

Thirty seconds, front camera, one name. Your views are what fund the payoff — the attention IS the contribution, and it costs you nothing but the time it takes to say a true thing out loud.

Door two

Or grab something

Not everyone wants to be on camera, and that's fine. Take something from the campaign collection instead — every dollar of profit goes straight into the impact fund, logged the same day.

The campaign collection
Door three

Or just watch

Can't do either? Watch anyway. Follow, let the videos play, send one to somebody. That still moves the number, because that is how this whole thing is funded.

There is no penalty for any of it. That's not a loophole — it's the design.
A Pick is a public spotlight, not an entry.

Naming someone doesn't enter them into anything, isn't a vote, and isn't a guarantee they'll be helped. It's recognition — and it grows the crowd behind the whole campaign, which is what actually pays somebody's debt off. If you want a person genuinely considered, that goes somewhere private instead — send it to the hotline.

Every membership $30 and up comes with the shirt.

Not a discount on one — the $35 shirt, free, in your first order. Your first month covers what it costs us to make and send it, so nothing comes out of the impact fund to put it on you.

And it starts the conversation for you. Somebody reads it before you have said a word, and now they are asking you about it. That is the whole reason it exists.

Taking part is free and open to anyone. Anyone carrying outstanding student loan debt can be named, whether or not they are currently enrolled anywhere and no matter how long ago they borrowed. No purchase, membership, or payment is required to make a Pick, to name someone, or to be named, and nothing anyone buys improves anyone's chances of being helped. A CuppyTv Pick is a public spotlight — not an entry, a vote, or a guarantee of financial assistance — and the Picks do not determine who is chosen. Buying or giving isn't required — it pushes this further if you do. Purchases from the campaign collection are purchases, not donations: every dollar of profit, meaning what remains after the cost of the item and its shipping, goes to the impact fund and is published on the public ledger. Memberships priced $30 and above include one shirt free in the first order; the shirt's cost is accounted for before the published funding split is applied. Recipients are reviewed separately and privately against published criteria, and nothing about anyone is published without their consent. CuppyTv is a company, not a registered charity, so nothing here is a tax-deductible donation.
